As you may understand the sources of histories have changed radically over the years. Where once the telephone books provide extensive amounts of information, now they are nearly useless. Early phone books had the names of everyone in a household and often listed the profession of the breadwinner, now few people even allow their phones to be listed and others do not even have land lines. Newspapers from 100 years ago had local events in homes covered as news. Now events are often only listed on line and once the event is over, the web site may go dark.
